Regarding 15% enhancement to the employees who promoted between 01-01-2016 to 20-09-2021

                            Hello my dear followers. How are you! I hope you're fine. It's been so long time to post new articles for you. Due to some conditions we are unable to provide you the latest material of the Punjab Government rules and notifications. But you don't have to wait anymore because today we 'll discuss a new topic related to the 6th Punjab Pay Commission.

15%-enhancement-to-the-employees-who-promoted-between 01-01-2016 to 20-09-2021

                        As you know, there are so many letters published by the Punjab Government from 01-07-2020 to till now. The Department has published too much letters that's why every employee got confused that what should do and what should not do.

                    Today in this post we will specially focus on senior employees means old employees whose date of Joining is in 1985 to 1990s. As you aware that Government of Punjab Department of Finance(Finance personnel-1 branch) has published a letter No.09/02/2021-5FP1/45-50 Dated 06-01-22. In this letter Government has decided to give benefit of 15% enhancement of pay to the employees recruited between 01-01-2016 to 20-09-2021.

                    After the publication of this letter every old employee got confused that what should he do. Because if he give an option to choose 15% enhancement from the date of promotion then he would to leave an arrear from 01-01-2016 to 20-09-2021. This creates a lot of confusion in their mind.

                    for the help of those employees we will solve a practical problem and try to help them. So let's start:-

Suppose Mrs. Sunita working as Junior Assistant in education department of Punjab Government. Her date of Joining is 15-12-1987. She is drawing Basic pay 16600/-( Pay Band 13400+ Grade Pay 3600) in 5th Punjab Pay Commission on 01-03-2011. She got 14 year ACP on 19-03-2013 and promoted as Senior Assistant in pay scale 10300-34800+4400 on 07-01-2016. She has given an option in 5th Punjab Pay Commission to fix her pay from Increment date that is from 01-03-2016. Now we will fix her pay from 01-01-2016 and also from the date of Promotion in 6th Punjab Pay Commission as per Revised pay rules 2021.

If she give option to fix her pay from 01-01-2016

            If Mrs. Sunita gives an option to fix her pay from 01-01-2016 that is from applicability of Punjab civil Service Revised pay rules 2021 then her pay will be fixed as under:-

As you can see if she gives an option to fix her from 01-01-2016 then she will draw 65,800/- as Revised basic on 01-03-2021.

                As you can see in both the cases Basic Pay fixed at 65,800/-. But if the employee chooses to fix her pay from the date of Promotion then she will have to forego arrear from 01-01-2016 to 20-09-2021. Which is a big financial loss to her.
                So in the we suggest that old employees should have to give option to fix their pay from 01-01-2016 only and not from the date of promotion. In general 15% enhancement is for those employees whose pay gets fixed higher than normal 2.59 or 2.25 factor.
