                  As we have already discussed in our previous post "Extension in Service" that considering the financial view of the state, the state government has decided to extend the services of a government employee or a class government employee beyond the date of retirement for a period not exceeding two years, after getting an option from the concerned government employee or government employees as the case may be.
                Now Government of Punjab, Department of Finance(finance personnel-2 branch) vide their letter no.22/2/2012-3FP.2/471 dated 20-09-2013 has decided to extend the services of a government employee by one year more. This letter is issued in continuation of letter no. 22/2/2012-3FP2/475 dated 08-10-2012. As per provisions of clause (a) and clause (b) of rule 3.26 of Punjab Civil Service Rules volume-1, part-1 the Governor of Punjab is pleased to extend the services of Group A, B, C and D employee for one year more from 01-11-2013.
                           Extension in service for one year more will only be admissible to employees who are eligible for an extension in service on or after 31-10-2013 and will submit their option to their head of office as per proforma annexed with this letter prior to the date of completion of 59 or 61 years age. The option once exercised shall be considered as final and no change will be allowed thereafter. All other conditions are the same as letter no.22/2/2012-3FP2/475 dated 08-10-2012. These instructions shall take effect from 01-11-2013.
